A shift in mood and sentiment inspires a tonal recalibration and the evolution of new ideas. For Autumn Winter 2026, Lauren Manoogian explores the concept of clothing as architecture for the body. An emphasis on form and structure gives rise to monolithic volume and bold sculptural details. The traditionally soft, sloping lines of sweater knits are redrawn with a more pronounced outline and graphic edge. The humble geometry of the square becomes a major leitmotif of the collection, abstracting and obscuring the figure as it is enveloped in dynamic planes of cloth. The scale, proportion, and dimension of each garment are precisely considered not only in relation to the body that lies beneath, but also the space between. Deliberate gaps between fabric and skin are as integral to the garment’s design as yarn and stitch. Absence informs presence. Autumn Winter 2026 unfolds as a definitive exercise in crafting the negative space.
